What to Expect
Welcome to PTC! We are a friendly group of people that are eager to meet you. Many of our members have served overseas so there is a mixture of cultural backgrounds. Our common bond is a shared love for Christ, a commitment to the Word of God, and our desire to tell others of God’s love and grace.
Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect at your worship service?
PTC is a friendly, casual church; you will find some people in jeans, some wearing suits or dresses. We aren’t worried about your clothes but we are eager to get to know you.
Worship on Sunday mornings is our opportunity to join together in giving praise to our great and awesome God. We are led in worship by our worship band and vocal team. The music is a mix of contemporary music and classic hymns. Our desire is to focus our hearts and minds on the Lord and worship God in Spirit and in truth. We hold to the authority of the Word of God which is our guide in faith and practice and therefore the preaching of God’s Word holds a prominent place in our worship service.
Where do I go on Sunday morning when I arrive?
If you arrive on Prairie College Campus between 9:30 and 9:45 you will probably want to head over to the Maxwell center to get a cup of free coffee and meet some friendly people. At 10:00 our Sunday morning service starts in the North Auditorium. When you walk through the doors you will be greeted by one of our awesome ushers and if the service is particularly full, they will help you find an open chair.
Where do I take my children?
If you have children aged 2 and under we have a nursery available in the Maxwell center. You will need to sign them in and if it is your first time, there will be someone to help you with that process. Once you have them signed in, you will be able to leave them in the care of our nursery volunteers. Each of our kids ministry volunteers have passed a background check and have a heart to work with children.
During the summer months, if your children are older than 2, they will join us in the North Auditorium for the worship service. Don’t panic. We have many young families with many young children. We know that the only time small children are silent is when they are up to no good. There are crayons and coloring pages at the rear of the auditorium, make sure you grab some on the way in. We love the sounds that a young, growing church makes.
